Education Services

Global REACH supports the mission and goals of the University of Michigan Medical School (UMMS) by providing educational services for UMMS students who participate in an experience abroad, and by facilitating the visits of international scholars and learners.

Opportunities for UMMS Students

Opportunities abound at the Medical School for students interested in medicine from a global perspective. Medical students across all four years may choose to participate in formal educational programs to study global health and disparities, and may opt to do research projects or clinical electives abroad.

Opportunities for UMMS Post-Docs and Faculty
Global REACH's Global Health Research Certificate Program is a two-year curriculum intended to help faculty incorporate global health into their research portfolios.

Visiting Scholars and Learners

UMMS hosts many international scholars and learners each year who participate in clinical, educational, or research activities. Periods of engagements may range from a few days to more than a year. Global REACH works with individual UMMS units to facilitate visits that build global collaborations.
