Funding Announcements

Global REACH offers a number of funding opportunities intended to help UMMS faculty and students engage in meaningful global health partnerships, collaborations, and educational experiences. Faculty need to members of the Global REACH Faculty Associates network to be eligible for Global REACH grants. Students need be in good standing. In many cases, while all UMMS students are eligible, priority is given to those enrolled in the Global Health and Disparities Path of Excellence.

For Faculty

Partnership Development Grants: Biannual grants to help UMMS faculty members to strengthen new relationships with international colleagues. The awards can be used for travel to or from Ann Arbor to meet with partners in the early stages of a collaboration.

Faculty-Student Travel Grants: Small travel awards to help faculty engage UMMS student mentees in global health by including them on visits to meet and work with international partners.

For Students

Global Health and Disparities Scholarships: Supporting M3 and M4-level students enrolled in the Global Health & Disparities Path of Excellence to pursue scholarly goals aimed at addressing health disparities in low-resource settings - both domestic and international.
 

M3 and M4 Clincial Elective Grants: For upper-level medical students looking to conduct a clinical elective at a UMMS partner institution overseas.

Woll Scholarships: For students to embark on clinical clerkships in a developing country thanks to the generous support of Drs. Douglas and Margo Yellin Woll.

Conference Grants: Supporting student travel to prominent off-campus global health conferences (national or international) to showcase their work conducted through Global REACH scholarships.

University of São Paulo Winter School Travel Grants: Supporting student participation in the University of São Paulo Medical School’s unique Winter School program.

Non-Traditional Scholarships: Funding a variety of student-developed international educational experiences on a case-by-case basis.

Faculty-Student Travel Grants: Small travel awards to help faculty engage UMMS student mentees in global health by including them on visits to meet and work with international partners.
